After Elections Administrator Isabel Longoria resigns effective July 1, Harris County GOP reiterates call for independent oversight of May 7 and 24 Elections

HOUSTON – Harris County Republican Party Chairman Cindy Siegel joined Texas State Senator Paul Bettencourt, HCRP Legal Counsel Steve Mitby and the Party’s Legal Team to discuss Elections Administrator Isabel Longoria’s resignation yesterday after the Commissioners Court meeting. This week, the party filed a lawsuit with the goal of removing Longoria and her management team. Today, the party is reiterating its calls for an independent elections overseer for the upcoming May 7 local election and May 24 primary runoff election.
