Dan Huberty, Candidate for State Representative District 127Dan Huberty is the leading Republican candidate for State Representative, District 127; the seat is being vacated by Joe Crabb as he has announced his retirement from the Texas Legislature. Huberty has the business background, budget and finance qualifications, and education credentials to provide strong new leadership to the area and bring a unique perspective to Austin.

Dan Huberty is currently the President of the Humble Independent School District for the 2009-2010 school year. As one of seven trustees, he oversees a $260,000,000 annual budget, which educates over 34,500 students in Humble, Texas. First elected in May 2006, Dan was unopposed for reelection in May of 2009. Dan has served in various capacities over the last four years on the school board, most recently as Vice President and Chairman of the Finance Committee, where he has worked diligently with the current board, the community, and our local and state officials to find a resolution to school finance reform.

Dan is Vice President of Clean Energy, the largest provider of natural gas for transportation in North America with a broad customer base in refuse, transit, ports, shuttle, taxi, regional trucking, airport and the municipal fleet markets. Dan is working with national fleet operators, airports, and taxi and parking operators to convert their vehicles to clean burning compressed and liquefied natural gas. He is proud to be affiliated with Clean Energy, providing innovative solutions to lead the country away from its dependence on foreign oil by fueling our countries fleets with clean burning natural gas. Prior to joining Clean Energy, Dan served as a Vice President for one of the largest national parking companies for 16 years.

Dan is a conservative and lifelong Republican. In addition to his own campaigns, he has worked to help elect others to public office. He is an associate member of the Kingwood Area Republican Women and Lake Houston Shores Republican Women's clubs.

Active in his community, Dan is a member of the Humble Chamber of Commerce; the Kingwood Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, and Humble Rotary; in addition, he is a board member of the Be an Angel Fund, and has been active with Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the Students Against Drunk Driving campaigns for nearly 20 years, as well as other efforts to improve the life in Northeast Harris County.

Dan and his wife, Janet, have been married for 14 years. They live in Walden on Lake Houston with their three children, Brianna (9), Ryan (7) and Dylan (5), and two dogs Jake and Rocky. They are active parishioners at Saint Martha's Catholic Church where Dan serves on the Building and Planning Committee.
